Session on Women’s Health and Personal Well-being

Dr. Deepti Kirtikar conducted an interactive session addressing health and personal challenges commonly faced by young women. The session covered menstrual and sexual health, changes during adolescence, menstrual hygiene, and everyday personal hygiene practices.

Participants received information about the appropriate use and disposal of sanitary products, including an introduction to menstrual cups. The discussion also addressed peer pressure, making informed health decisions, emotional well-being, and recognizing situations involving emotional abuse.

The session provided participants with an opportunity to ask questions and develop greater awareness of issues that can affect their physical and emotional well-being.

Preventive Healthcare and Gynaecological Awareness

Dr. Alka Kumari conducted a session on preventive gynaecological healthcare. She discussed the importance of recognizing common vaginal infections and understanding appropriate preventive measures.

The session also introduced participants to Human Papillomavirus (HPV), its association with sexually transmitted infections, and the importance of preventive healthcare. Information was provided about HPV vaccination, including its role in reducing long-term health risks and the importance of understanding the appropriate timing for vaccination.

Focus on Holistic Health

Both speakers emphasized the importance of taking a comprehensive approach to personal well-being, covering physical, sexual, mental, and emotional health. The discussions encouraged participants to seek reliable health information, adopt appropriate hygiene practices, and make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.

As an additional contribution to the programme, the guest speakers offered free HPV vaccinations for young women studying at Nagaloka, providing participants with access to an important preventive healthcare service.
