Four Students Embark on Higher Education in Thailand

Farewell Ceremony for Four Students Selected for Higher Studies at International Buddhist College, Thailand

Nagarjuna Training Institute (NTI) organized a farewell ceremony on 6 June 2026 to congratulate and send off four students who have been selected to pursue a two-year Master’s Degree in Buddhist Studies at the International Buddhist College (IBC), Thailand. The programme celebrated their academic achievement and recognized the dedication, discipline, and perseverance that led to their successful selection.

The programme was attended by faculty members, students, parents, alumni, and well-wishers. The event was presided over by Dhammachari Suvirya and Mr. Bhanu Pratap, Academic Director of Nagarjuna Training Institute.

The programme commenced with a formal inaugural session, followed by a welcome for the four selected students:

  • Ms. Ghaneshwari (Chhattisgarh)
  • Ms. Tejasvini (Maharashtra)
  • Ms. Usha (Rajasthan)
  • Mr. Milind (Gujarat)

Each student was felicitated with a bouquet as a token of appreciation for their achievement.

In her welcome address, Ms. Renuka highlighted the academic opportunities available through the International Buddhist College and explained the rigorous selection process undertaken by the university. She also spoke about the importance of discipline, continuous learning, and the longstanding educational collaboration between Nagarjuna Training Institute and academic institutions in Asia.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Bhanu Pratap congratulated the students on their success and acknowledged the hard work they had invested throughout their preparation. He encouraged them to uphold values of integrity, academic excellence, and social responsibility while pursuing their higher studies abroad. He also emphasized the importance of using their education for the benefit of society.

Preparation and Selection

The selected students underwent systematic academic preparation through the Nagarjuna Training Institute, where they received training in English language skills and Buddhist Studies in English to meet international academic standards.

As part of the admission process, the International Buddhist College, Thailand, conducted a written examination and personal interviews assessing applicants’ proficiency in English and their understanding of Buddhist Studies. Based on their performance, the four students were offered admission to the two-year Master’s programme.

Throughout the preparation period, the Nagarjuna Training Institute provided academic guidance, mentoring, and continuous support to help the students successfully complete the selection process.

In his address, Suvirya spoke about the importance of disciplined learning, personal development, and lifelong commitment to education. He encouraged the students to make the best use of the opportunity while representing their communities with dedication and humility.

The four students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to their parents, teachers, mentors, and the Nagarjuna Training Institute for their encouragement and guidance throughout their educational journey. Faculty members, parents, fellow students, and alumni also conveyed their best wishes for the students’ future academic pursuits.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Renuka, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
