To mark the 124th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Nagaloka organised a function on 14th April, 2015. The event was attended by Nagaloka staff, NTI alumni, graduation students and local people. The programme began with paying homage to Dr. Ambedkar statue; declaration of 22 vows of Ambedkar followed by a talk given by the Chief Guest Prof. Mhaske, Head of Department of Computer Deparatment, Vishwasarya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur.
Prof. Mhaske opened his talk highlighting the mass celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti in different ways by different groups across the nation and requested Nagaloka to take an effort to bring these different groups together and strengthen their unity. He also outlined the life of Dr. B.R Ambedkar as an intellectual personality, revolutionary, visionary and his work against caste discrimination citing few incidences that took place during his lifetime.
In the next session, ten NTI students shared their thoughts on Dr. Ambedkar’s life, his work against social injustice, discrimination, untouchability, and Buddhism and presented their critical analysis on social issues prevailing in their respective states.
