Beneficiaries Details: Daliy wagers from Rural Dalit Community
Work details:
Beneficiaries Identification:
Our team members did a survey to get a list of underprivileged families in the village. The team has focused on widow women, single-parent families, and landless laborers. 100 families have been identified after 3 days of fieldwork.
Ration Purchase:
Taken quotes from 6 different shops and finalized the reasonable one.
On the day of distribution:
There were three stages of screening systems to make sure only the people who are in need get the benefit. 14 volunteers from the villages have divided themselves to distribute the kits.
Remarks:
This was the first relief work in the village. The beneficiaries felt very happy and they said they don’t need to worry about organizing the food items for a month. As this region people eat rice a lot, based on their requirements 15kgs of rice is distributed to each family.
Case Study:
Sindi (Name changed) is a 33 years young widow, has 14 years daughter and 10 years son. Her husband was an alcoholic and died due to cardiac arrest two years ago. Her mother-in-law lives with her but has no support from her as she doesn’t like a daughter-in-law. Her mother works as housekeeping staff and helps this family. This relief kit helped the entire family to have meals without getting worried at least for a month.
